Pushto Language

Pushto Language

Pushto also called Pukhto is a very ancient language. It is spoken in the North West Frontier Province, Balochistan Province and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. It is one of the two official languages of Afghanistan, the second being Dari. In 1936 it was made the National Language of Afghanistan. It is not the official language of any of the provinces in Pakistan. The advancement in technology has made it possible that Pushto language will expand in future. Moreover the recent political awareness amongst Pukhtuns has shown that very soon it will become the official language of the province called “Pukhtunkhwa”.
